The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Ensign Ross C. Pearson, United States Navy (Reserve Force), for distinguished service in the line of his profession as Assistant to Commander Submarine Chaser Detachment 1, and as Hydrophone Officer much of the success of the listening devices and the training of officers in their use is due to him.
