The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Lieutenant Commander (SC) John Dale Pye Hodapp, United States Navy, for distinguished service in the line of his profession as Supply Officer of the Destroyer Division, which made the trip from Manila, Philippine Islands, to Gibraltar in the summer of 1917.
