The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Captain (MC) George F. Freeman, United States Navy, for distinguished service in the line of his profession in charge of the Navy base hospital at Brest, France, and as Force Medical Officer on the staff of the Commander, U. S. Naval Forces in France, during World War I.
