The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Lieutenant, Junior Grade Nugent Fallon, United States Navy (Reserve Force), for distinguished and heroic service as an Aviator of a Seaplane operating with the Royal Air Force Station at Felixstowe, England. Lieutenant Nugent participated in several successful offensive patrols over the North Sea and made one of the first experimental flights from towing lighters. He made one raid over Heligoland Bight, in company with several other British seaplanes during which one enemy seaplane was destroyed.
