The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Machinist’s Mate First Class Dudley Bernstein, United States Navy, for distinguished service in the line of his profession in airplane fights over the North Sea, on 29 July 1918, when an enemy submarine was attacked and probably damaged, and on 19 July 1918 when another submarine was attacked.
