The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Sergeant Frank F. Geiger (MCSN: 92522), United States Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving with the 95th Company, 6th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A.E.F. in action in the Forest of Argonne, France, 1 November 1918. Sergeant Geiger displayed great coolness and courage in leading his section against machine-gun positions. He was later severely wounded while rushing a machine-gun nest unaided.
