Woosley (ASN: 2809681), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Woosley distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company D, 359th Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Villers-devant-Dun, France, 2 November 1918, in voluntarily going to the rescue of a severely wounded comrade in the face of heavy machine gun and artillery fire.
