Wilson (ASN: 5895), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Wilson distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Medical Detachment, 1st Battalion, 2d Engineers, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Medeah Ferme, France, 9 October 1918, in caring for the wounded under severe and direct artillery fire.
