No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Meade White (ASN: 107183), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Corporal White distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Battery C, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near St. Etienne, France, 15 July 1918, in organizing a new gun crew and remaining with his piece continuously throughout the night.

No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Meade White (ASN: 107183), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery C, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, during the early morning hours of 15 July 1918, near St. Eugene, France, Corporal White, after the crew of the gun which he had been serving were all either killed or wounded, organized a new gun crew and courageously returned to the piece. Although the fire was terrific, Corporal White remained continuously with the gun throughout the night and all of the next morning.
