Private Watson distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with the 3d Battalion, 132d Infantry Regiment, 33d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, France, 10 October 1918, in voluntarily delivering an important message during a terrific bombardment.
