No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private First Class Charles Walker (ASN: 297725), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Walker distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Battery E, 119th Field Artillery Regiment, 32d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Chery-Chartreuve, France, 12 August 1918, in going to the rescue of wounded under heavy shell fire.
