Tayler, Jr., United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. First Lieutenant Tayler distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving as Aide de Camp to the Commanding General, 181st Brigade, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Gesnes, France, 10 October 1918, in locating and reorganizing the front lines under intense artillery and machine gun fire.
