Second Lieutenant Stinchcomb distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with the 323d Field Artillery, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Brabant-sur-Meuse, France, 18 – 19 October 1918, in constructing and maintaining a telephone line under heavy shell fire.
