Sirey (ASN: 551033), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private Sirey distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 38th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Moulins, France, 15 July 1918, while carrying ammunition to the front line during enemy bombardment.

While serving with Company F, 38th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private First Class Sirey displayed exceptional heroism near Crezancy, France, 15 July 1918. This soldier, a member of an automatic rifle squad, which ran out of ammunition, voluntarily went through heavy shell fire to the ammunition dump and returned with the needed supplies to the front line.
