Peters (ASN: 1393727), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Sergeant First Class Peters distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company D, 108th Engineer Regiment, 33d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Raffecourt Mill, France, 26 September 1918, while constructing a passerelle under constant enemy machine gun and artillery fire.
