By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Mechanic Stanley J. Pabrinskis (ASN: 550033), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Mechanic Pabrinskis distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company C, 38th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action on the Vesle River, France, 7 August 1918, while going to the rescue of a wounded officer.

Pabrinskis (ASN: 550033), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company C, 38th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Corporal James Dooley and Private Stanley Pabrinskis when they saw that their Lieutenant who had crossed the Vesle on a patrol had fallen, went immediately to him through heavy machine gun fire and carried him to the First Aid Station. These men exhibited remarkable courage and coolness during the barrage of 15 July and on the Vesle as litter bearers.
