Nutter (ASN: 548310), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company M, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Corporal Nutter, during the night of 15 July 1918, in the Bois d’Aigremont, while the company was being relieved, helped to carry wounded men to a place of safety while under heavy shell fire.
