While serving with Headquarters Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, on 15 July 1918, at Bois d’Aigremont, Private Meyer frequently exposed himself to heavy artillery fire to carry messages from 3d Battalion Post of Command to the Companies of the Battalion.
