McClure (ASN: 1795080), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Wagoner McClure distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Headquarters Company, 311th Machine-Gun Battalion, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Montfaucon, France, 29 September 1918. Although wounded, he did not mention the fact but remained on duty.
