Lee, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. First Lieutenant (Infantry) Lee distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with the 370th Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces, in action 14 October 1918, at Voges, France, in directing the carrying of ammunition to the front lines under heavy fire, and by his brilliant leadership.
