Jones (ASN: 2223056), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private Jones distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Medical Detachment, 358th Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces, in action in the St. Mihiel Salient, France, 12 September 1918, in rendering first aid under heavy shell fire.
