Jepson (ASN: 558181), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. First Sergeant Jepson distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company H, 47th Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Bazoches, France, 7 – 9 August 1918, in reorganizing and leading forward a platoon under heavy machine gun fire.
