Coyle (ASN: 63617), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private Coyle distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company A, 102d Infantry Regiment, 26th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Mont des Tombes, France, 28 February 1918, and for his extreme fortitude after being severely wounded.
