Private Clark distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company E, 102d Infantry Regiment, 26th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Seicheprey, France, 20 April 1918, in aiding in holding off a superior force of the enemy for a period of twenty-four hours.
