Healey (ASN: 542877), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Sergeant Healey distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company L, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Fossoy, France, 15 July 1918, in patrolling the entire position of his platoon during terrific enemy fire.

While serving with Company L, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, on the morning of 15 July 1918, near Fossoy, France, Sergeant Healey left shelter during an intense artillery bombardment and machine gun fire and patrolled the entire position of his platoon going to advanced posts on the river bank two hundred yards in front of the first line of resistance.
