Chrisley (ASN: 2337849), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company A, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in the attack on Le Charmel, on 26 July 1918. Under heavy artillery and machine gun fire after all his company’s officers were disabled, Sergeant Chrisley fearlessly exposed himself gathering scattered detachments and reorganizing them for the advance.
