Second Lieutenant Carloss distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with the 321st Field Artillery, American Expeditionary Forces, in action during the Argonne-Meuse Offensive, 16 October to 1 November 1918, while on duty as Battalion Liaison Officer.
