Brogden (ASN: 545131), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with the Medical Detachment, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, from 15 to 20 July 1918, in the 2d Battle of the Marne, around Crezancy, France, Private First Class Brogden worked courageously and continuously under any an all shell, shrapnel and gas fire, caring for the wounded with entire disregard for his own personal safety.
