By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Henry D. Ameigh (ASN: 1550426), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Corporal Ameigh distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Battery B, 76th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Cunel, France, 31 October 1918, in bringing up ammunition through heavy enemy shell fire.

Ameigh (ASN: 1550426), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 76th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Corporal Ameigh distinguished himself by exceptionally meritorious conduct and devotion to duty in action. He was Caisson Corporal with the roving piece detached from the battery from 31 October to 13 November 1918, at Cunel, Clery-le-Grand, Dun-sur-Meuse, Murvaux, Lion and Mouzay. He showed fine judgment and bravery in taking his teams twice through Clery-le-Grand under shell fire on the night of 3 November. He also showed great bravery in bringing ammunition to the piece under heavy shell fire at Dun-sur-Meuse, on the night of 6 November, taking drivers and horses back to a place of safety without casualties.
