Julian Benjamin graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1900. He was the son of Samuel Nicoll Benjamin who graduated from the Academy in 1961, and earned the Medal of Honor during the Civil War. Julian Benjamin retired as a U.S. Army Colonel.

    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Colonel (Infantry) Julian Arnold Benjamin, United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 306th Infantry, 77th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in France during World War I. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Colonel Benjamin, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
