By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Frank W. Sramek, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company A, 3d Supply Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Corporal Sramek displayed the utmost coolness by driving his truck, which was loaded with men of the 30th Infantry Regiment, to a place of safety after being painfully wounded in the right arm. Corporal Sramek was under the direct observation of the enemy and all road in the vicinity were being heavily shelled at the time near Courboin, France, 16 July 1918.
