By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Roy Johnson, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company A, 3d Supply Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Corporal Johnson volunteered his services when volunteers were called for to obtain abandoned ammunition, volunteered to go with a truck which was detailed owing to the fact that a horse-drawn caisson had been blown up, helped in the loading of the truck, after two unsuccessful attempts had been made to reach the ammunition.
