No. 43, W.D., 1918), Wagoner Carl Hinz, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Ambulance Company No. 7, 3d Sanitary Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, on 15 July 1918, after his ambulance had been rendered useless by being hit by enemy fire, Wagoner Hinz voluntarily assisted in evacuating wounded to the dressing station at Crezancy. Throughout both the Marne and the Meuse-Argonne engagements his work has been of the highest order.
