By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Sidney G. Moseley (ASN: 1193346), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with the 3d Sanitary Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Montfaucon, France, during the period from 18 to 21 October 1918. Sergeant Moseley was in command of an ambulance platoon, and, under extreme and distressing conditions he skillfully and efficiently directed the evacuation of wounded through heavy artillery fire, rendering valuable assistance where motor evacuation was impossible.
