By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Frank E. Hensy (ASN: 1193533), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Headquarters, Ambulance Section, 3d Sanitary Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, during our operation in the Meuse-Argonne Sector from 1 to 30 October 1918, Sergeant Hensy displayed especially meritorious and distinguished services. While acting as Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Ambulance Regulating Station, he showed exceptional ability in the performance of his many duties, at the same time showing absolute disregard for the grave hazard he was continuously being subjected to by heavy enemy shell fire. His attention and devotion to duty contributed very largely to the success with which the large number of casualties of this and other divisions were evacuated to the rear.
