    By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Thomas A. Pressley, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with the 3d Sanitary Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Lieutenant Pressley was in charge of transportation in the Marne battle, 15 July to 10 August 1918, and in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, 30 September to 31 October 1918. By his resourcefulness and devotion to duty he succeeded in hastening the evacuation of the wounded and was at all times an inspiration to those working with him.
