By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Captain (Medical Corps) Weir M. Miley, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While Commanding the Mobile Field Laboratory, 3d Sanitary Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Captain Miley rendered especially meritorious serviced in the operations on the Marne from 18 July to 6 August 1918. He not only kept his laboratory in operation but at Jouy sur Morin he performed the service of ward surgeon with exceptional ability.
