By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Wagoner Brandt O. Galloway, United States Army, is cited (Posthumously) by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company A, 3d Ammunition Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in the Champagne-Marne Defensive, 14 – 18 July 1918, Wagoner Galloway voluntarily carried supplies to the 10th Field Artillery through heavy shell fire and under direct observation. In the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, while attempting to take his truck out of a shell hole, he was mortally wounded.
