Germain (ASN: 1450353), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company C, 3d Ammunition Train, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, during the Champagne-Marne Defensive, 15 – 18 July 1918, Corporal Germain voluntarily drove two truck loads of small arms ammunition from La Billionaire to St. Eugene, France, through Courboin at the height of the German shelling of Courboin.
