By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant First Class Harry C. Miller (ASN: 244366), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company C, 5th Field Signal Battalion, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, on 24 – 27 October 1918, at Ville aux Farm, and Bois de Ferme and Boise de Foret, during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, Sergeant First Class Miller exhibited great personal courage and disregard of danger in going out in a heavy artillery and machine gun fire and repairing telephone communications to front line units which were engaged with the enemy.
