By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private Anton Niedzialek (ASN: 155034), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 76th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private Niedzialek distinguished himself by coolness and conspicuous service in battle near Le Charmel, France, on 28 July 1918. His own horse was killed by an air bomb that killed and wounded 33 members of his battery. He at once secured and mounted another horse and helped to put his piece in position.
