By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Thomas J. Bostock (ASN: 1550011), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery E, 76th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Corporal Bostock showed conspicuous bravery and disregard of personal safety at Mont St. Pere, France, on the night of 23 July 1918 when, by his untiring efforts he succeeded in bringing two fourgon wagons loaded with supplies over a shell-swept road, a distance of three kilometers, although the horse he was riding was twice hit.
