By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private George M. Olson (ASN: 1039157), Private Arnold B. Witney (ASN: 1039192), Private Martil L. Conway (ASN: 107142), and Private John F. Faulkarson (ASN: 107188), United States Army, are cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery F, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, these men displayed exceptional courage and resource at Greves Ferme, France, 15 July 1918. In the early mourning hours on this date these men, under heavy enemy fire, repaired lines of communication, often being in the open under direct observation and fire of the enemy.
