    By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private Joachim Niedzwioecki (ASN: 1038314), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private Niedzwioecki served his battery faithfully and courageously in the action on the Marne, at St. Mihiel, and in the Argonne. During the night of 14 – 15 July 1918, he rendered valuable services in forwarding ammunition and caring for the wounded under heavy shell fire. At all times he set an example of calmness and courage in the face of danger.
