By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private Paul V. Kube (ASN: 2112804), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private Kube served faithfully and efficiently with his battery throughout the action on the Marne, at St. Mihiel, and the Argonne. He voluntarily carried ammunition by hand for more than a mile making two trips over shell-swept roads. During the action in the Argonne, after a shell had killed or wounded everyone except himself in a trench, he rendered valuable aid in removing wounded and getting them to a dressing station.
