By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private Landon P. Key (ASN: 1038279), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private Key served his battery courageously and efficiently throughout the action on the Marne, St. Mihiel and the Argonne. During the night of 15 July 1918, he rendered valuable services by volunteering to act as driver on an ammunition wagon after many of his companions had fallen in an effort to reach the battery.
