    By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private Pater Dzinis (ASN: 1038352), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private Dzinis rendered faithful and efficient service with his battery throughout the actions on the Marne, St. Mihiel and the Artonne, and on the morning of 15 July 1918, during the German attack, he volunteered his services as driver to carry ammunition after many of his companions had fallen in an effort tor each the battery. After being on duty for more than thirty-six hours without rest, he again volunteered his services to haul ammunition from a nearby battery and worked through the night, being at all times exposed to heavy bombardment.
