    By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private First Class Walter Majsterek (ASN: 1038378), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private First Class Majsterek rendered courageous and efficient service as cannoneer during the action on the Marne and on 15 July 1918, voluntarily carried ammunition by hand for more than a mile over shell-swept roads. In the Argonne and at St. Mihiel, he was a member a B.C. detail and rendered valuable servicers in maintaining communication and making frequent trips to front line trenches with the Reconnaissance Officer, being at all times fearless and willing in the performance of his duties.
