By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private First Class Isaac A. Harris (ASN: 170063), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private First Class Harris served as a member of B.C. detail during the action on the Marne, rendering valuable services in establishing and maintaining communication under great difficulty. He remained at a half-way point between his battery and battalion in an exposed position for two days without rest or food and stayed at his post until so badly gassed he was sent to the hospital.
