By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Wagoner Arthur Mitchell and Wagoner Abraham L. Hube, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Supply Company, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, these men distinguished themselves on the Marne, at St. Mihiel and in the Argonne, by delivering rations and other supplies to batteries in exposed positions while under heavy fire. Often, when it was impossible to give them explicit directions, they themselves, by good judgment, were able to accomplish their important mission.
